CAR buying comparison leader, carwow has acquired used car buying platform Wizzle, the app that helps dealers appraise and value used cars that had been driven onto their forecourts.

Wizzle customers have to answer a set of questions about their cars general condition and upload six to eight photos which dealer partners around the UK can access before deciding whether to make an offer to buy it.

It now has more than 2,000 dealers using the platform buying more than 1,500 cars a month.  It’s quick and simple for dealers to review the condition of any of the vehicles on the platform and make an offer in real time.

The acquisition will help carwow users sell their current car as soon as they’ve configured their new one on the site. While it has had a ‘Sell Your Car’ feature live for a number of years, it has only been able to provide a single offer from a single provider.  By leveraging Wizzle’s technology platform, carwow will be able to provide multiple offers to customers and prioritise offering cars to dealer partners directly.

What does it mean for dealers?

In tandem with the launch, carwow has developed a pricing model that means dealers that are buying from and selling to the same customer will only pay for a new car enquiry.

Fixed fees for the purchase of a used car on the platform will start from £99. Dealers who are not currently on the platform can register interest and be added to the waiting list for the new service by emailing.
