QUEST Motor Group, one of the UK’s oldest dealerships, has deployed GForces’, NetDirector Auto-e software to meet increasing consumer demand for online car sales.

The new ecommerce platform enables end-to-end online car purchases and will drive the group’s used car sales for its Braintree and Maldon sites.

The family-owned Essex retailer collaborated with GForces after identifying a need to implement a new ecommerce strategy and create an omnichannel digital presence for customers.

Starting life as Quest Coaches in 1924, the business has a long history of anticipating and adapting to changing market conditions.

After thriving as a public transport provider in the early years of motorised travel, the business became the Vauxhall and Bedford dealer for South East Essex in the 1930s.

Following significant contributions to the war effort, the company continued to prosper over the following decades with the addition of car repair and vehicle hire services, commercial workshops and a UK-wide breakdown recovery business.

More recently Quest Motor Group has grown into a successful multi-franchise dealer, still in hands of the Gozzett family that established it in the early 1900s.

By embracing the next era of automotive retail, Quest Motor Group can now facilitate every aspect of the buying journey entirely online, from a guaranteed part-exchange valuation, to finance application and instant credit decisions – all fully compliant under the FCA’s Consumer Credit directive.

The retailer sells Vauxhall, Citroen, Suzuki, and Isuzu brands through its used car platform and has already achieved online sales, including one customer who placed her order online, received an instant credit acceptance, and collected her car the following day.

Conor Judge, Group Marketing Manager at Quest Motor Group, said that demand is growing for online car buying services.

He added: By partnering with GForces, we are now harnessing the full potential of digital retailing with a fully-integrated online customer experience.

“We have already seen an uplift in visits to our online used cars listings, as customers benefit from browsing stock at their leisure, with total control over their buying journey.”

GForces’ NetDirector Auto-e platform now serves more than 200 retailers and has been a first-to-market solution for independents and major retail groups.

It is supporting a wide range of dealer groups to implement the platform to underpin new ecommerce strategies.

The platform enables every stage of the buying journey, incorporating online card payments and part exchange valuation, to an advanced configuration tool, plus finance approval – an end-to-end process that can be completed in as little as half an hour.

Quest Motor Group is an appointed representative of Automotive Compliance Limited, so is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. All group used cars are available to buy online using GForces’ NetDirector® Auto-e product.
