Westover Group is celebrating its successful support for the Macmillan Dorset Bike Ride event in July.

The event saw 700 people taking in cycling challenges of 10, 25, 38, 48, 60 or 100 miles. Each ride started at Corfe Mullen Recreation Ground and took in some of Dorset’s most stunning countryside. The oldest cyclist this year was 83 year old Gerry Robinson.

Westover Group sponsored the cyclists’ shirts and provided three cars to: lead the way for cyclists at the front of the pack; follow behind to check every rider was back safely; and also to help move organisers around the course. The retailer selected the Nissan LEAF and a Toyota CH-R for the task.

Westover’s  Sallyann Tanner commented, “The cars we took were the perfect choice. The LEAF is fully electric, so has zero emissions and is therefore better for the environment and also for any cyclists who might have been hot on its heels!”We had a great day and it was fantastic to see so many people supporting the wonderful work that Macmillan do. I’m sure there were some aching legs around Dorset on Monday morning!”
