A company specialising in IT solutions for major fleets is expanding. Meriden, Coventry-based Epyx, best-know for its 1link e-commerce platforms designed to improve the efficiency of fleets and their suppliers, covering functions including vehicle procurement, maintenance, hire, disposals and relicensing, has recruited three new account managers to support expansion of its rapidly growing 1link Disposal Network e-commerce platform.

The software is already popular – 1link has been adopted by leasing fleets totalling a parc of two million vehicles, more than 16,000 service providers, and the majority of UK’s top 50 vehicle leasing companies and motor manufacturers on behalf of their franchise dealer networks. Epyx also produces bespoke e-commerce solutions for a number of market-leading motor industry brands.

Franchise dealers, independent garages and car supermarkets that have joined the platform to purchase ex-fleet cars and vans will be visited by new recruits Marianne Caffrey, Mary-Ann Birch and Sarah Mobbs.

The new account managers will help users to become familiar with the system and are there to guide customers through key features such as setting up alerts when vehicles that match their ideal specifications come up for sale. They will also show dealers how to use Epyx’s recently-launched Trade to Trade facility designed to enable traders to sell vehicles to other traders through 1link Disposal Network.

Ken Trinder, Head of Business Development at Epyx, said: “The volume of sales through 1link Disposal Network doubled in the first six months of 2011, so the platform is growing rapidly.

“More and more trade buyers are joining the platform and, while it is designed to be very intuitive to use, our aim is to get them up to speed and buying through the system as soon as possible, hence the recruitment of our new account management team.

“We are seeing more major fleets using 1link Disposal Network as a key disposal channel and are expecting the number of sales through the platform to continue rising through the rest of 2011.”
