Used car supply may never return to previous levels

The last few years had taught at least some manufacturers that there were greater profits to be made from reducing supply and keeping new vehicle prices high. However, when supply was cut substantially during the pandemic, many car makers found that they were able to make equivalent or greater profits despite selling fewer units. Reduced volumes meant that they could keep prices higher.

All BCA Forecourt Ready vehicles are enhanced to be better than a Grade 1 cosmetic condition, and all also have a clean Assured mechanical report. Every vehicle has recently passed a MOT – with BCA rectifying any mechanical and safety issues - and all vehicles have been serviced.  This new offering will generate a sustainable source of retail quality stock that is expected to meet the approved used vehicle selling standards of most UK retailers. 

The increasing importance of signposting ULEZ and CAZ stock

In some cases, CAZs will see daily charging for non-compliant vehicles, while there will be no charge in others. In Scotland, the four LEZ city centres will see such vehicles banned entirely. Rather than a non-compliance charge, the LEZ will see owners of ineligible motors issued with a Penalty Charge Notice.
