Hayes’s Toyota (GB) career began in 2003 with various field-based roles before he took up an overseas assignment as a marketing manager at Toyota Motor Sales USA in California. Returning to the UK in 2009, he led the Sales Planning and Vehicle Marketing teams before promotion to Marketing Director in 2013.
Lexus tops satisfaction survey for fifth time in a row
Lexus (9.7) topped the all-important question ‘how would you rate your manufacturer overall on a scale of 1 to 10’, followed by Toyota and Kia (both at 9.6). Fiat (4.2), Abarth (3.8) and Hyundai (3.1) had the lowest ratings, despite all experiencing an increase in score. The average score rose by 0.2 points to 6.5.
Pandemic appears to have strengthened dealer OEM relationships
Lexus tops the NFDA rating with Kia in second place while Toyota and Mercedes took equal third. Most improved brand was Audi rising from 19th to 7th in just six months. Volkswagen saw the second largest rise with a score of 6.7, up from 5.0 last summer.

The brand remained at the top with the highest average score across all questions of the survey, 8.9 out of 10 points.
Lexus takes NFDA number one slot
Survey, conducted in July, asked franchised dealers 53 questions about their on-going relationship with their respective manufacturers. The questions covered a range of business issues and the impact on dealers’ satisfaction levels with their manufacturers’ relationship.
