New feature provides fleets with “granular” control over disposal channels

The new feature called Multi-Channel Remarketing, has been added to the company’s 1link Disposal Network platform, allowing absolute flexibility over pricing and remarketing route. For example, a fleet vendor could place a vehicle in a trade and a retail channel at the same time, at different prices.

A new feature added to 1link Disposal Network that is being used by VWFS under the five- year deal is the Claims Portal, an online tool that provides the means to resolve any vehicle damage issues quickly and easily through digital channels between vendor and buyer, either by returning the vehicle or agreeing on compensation.

No clear advantage for EVs when it comes to servicing

While workshop costs for some EVs represent substantial savings over their petrol and diesel equivalents, this cannot be assumed. Also, the number of times that EVs visit garages for maintenance or repair and the amount of time they spend unavailable off road are consistently similar to petrol or diesel vehicles - and these servicing factors very much represent a substantial cost to businesses.
