Nine Tesla locations across the UK were disrupted yesterday as demonstrators joined a global wave of protests against Elon Musk, with campaigners accusing the Tesla CEO of undermining democracy and public services.

In west London, protesters gathered from 11am outside Tesla’s Park Royal showroom, holding placards urging consumers to boycott the company.

The protest was one of more than 200 demonstrations taking place globally as part of a grassroots campaign branded “Tesla Takedown.” Organisers describe the action as a decentralised movement aiming to hold Musk to account over his political influence and business practices.

Other UK cities with reported Tesla Takedown actions today include Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Bristol. Internationally, major demonstrations are being held in Berlin, New York, and San Francisco, with nearly 50 protests in California alone.

Activists are calling on the public to sell Tesla shares, boycott the brand, and support local picket lines. The campaign has accused Musk of using his wealth and platform to “shred public services” and fund political causes they argue are harmful to democratic institutions.

The campaign said yesterday’s coordinated actions represent the largest single day of protest in its history and pledged to continue until their demands are met.
