Sytner has acquired Trainer (Holdings) Limited in Swansea, for an undisclosed sum.

The acquired business is one of the longest established BMW dealerships in the UK.  Trainer celebrated its 40th year as a BMW partner in 2016.  The business employs 100 staff, all of who have transferred to Sytner as part of the transaction.

David Kendrick, Partner at UHY Hacker Young who advised the shareholders of Trainer with the sale said: “The Trainer business has been established for a long time and will no doubt be a great addition to the Sytner Group.”

The Sytner group was founded in 1968, when Frank Sytner and his older brother Alan (previously the owner of the world famous Cavern Club in Liverpool) opened their first used car dealership in Nottingham. Sytner Group now operates over 140 retail locations in the UK, employs over 7500 people, and sells over 135,000 cars per annum.
