HENDY Group has appointed Simon Bottomley as its new chief operating officer.

Simon takes over the reins as chief operating officer from Andy Stevenson.

Stevenson, who will retire later this year, has spent 25 years with the south coast based retailer.

Simon joins from Cambridgeshire-based Thurlow Nunn, an automotive and agricultural supply company, where he was group managing director for 15 years following an early career in engineering.

He said he is thrilled to be joining Hendy which has 57 franchise outlets across 30 locations and employs more than 1,100 people in Hampshire, Sussex, Surrey, Kent and Devon.

Simon joins at an exciting time for the company which last year sold more than 40,000 vehicles.

It has recently launched four new dealerships and at the end of 2018 acquired the Hampshire-based Seward Group.

In addition, a new FordStore has just been launched in Eastleigh and work is underway on a brand new Car Store in Dorset.

“This is an exciting time for the group and I’m delighted to be on board to help build on the impressive legacy that the company has built up over the years,” said Simon who is relocating to Hampshire with his wife and family.

“The company has such a compelling vision and a fantastic culture putting staff and customers at the heart of its business.”

Chief executive Paul Hendy added:

“Simon has fantastic experience which will be crucial as we move forward with our future plans.”
