Aftersales comparison site, MyCarNeedsA.com, has joined business leaders and owners in a series of videos, as part The Telegraph Business Club Masterclass series.

The series focuses on business leaders and owners talking about setting up and running your own business.  Entitled ‘The Dot Com Car Business’, the video on MyCarNeedsA.com, features founder, Scott Hamilton together with Halfords, AutoRestore and Gary Hutchinson Car Sales. MyCarNeedsA.com is one of eight business chosen from across the UK to be featured in the Telegraph’s Business Club and will be featured for six weeks in print and online.

Scott Hamilton, Managing Director of MyCarNeedsA.com comments: “We are delighted to be featured in The Telegraph Business Club videos which looks inside our business and showcases what we deliver to car owners.  My vision for the business was to help car owners find trustworthy garages to carry out MOT, servicing and repairs at a price and location that suits them.  I also wanted to demonstrate that franchised dealers weren’t as expensive as car buyers believed and also give independent garages a level playing field to compete on.

“Over the last two years, we have turned down 1,600 garages that do not meet our standards.  This has been a brave move, but it was the right one.  Thanks to our stringent moderation process, we can provide car owners with a quality service.  Our research shows that 39% of car owners don’t choose a garage based on price and that the work we pass on is split 50:50 between franchised dealers and independents. “We are always looking for new network partners to join us and enjoy the benefits of additional revenue generated via MyCarNeedA.com.”

Scott Hamilton set up the website in 2015, having spent over twenty years working in franchised dealerships.  The site now works with 4,000 garage and workshop partners nationwide.  Over three quarter of a million car owners who visited the site have booked £1.5 million worth of MOT, servicing and repair jobs across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Chris Eldridge, MD of AutoRestore commented: “MyCarNeedsA.com differentiates itself as a comparison site through its focus on quality and customer service. This has resulted in many customers choosing a service provider based on factors they value more than just the lowest price, such as convenience and overall service levels. This fits extremely well with our own core values of service and quality.”
