VOLKSWAGEN has upped the ante on its smallest electric car, the e-up! with a host of updates bringing more equipment and a price revision offering four-figure savings.

There is more standard-fit equipment including height adjustment for the driver’s seat, a rear-view and new seat trim design.

VW’s commitment to providing value electric vehicles to customers is amplified by the car’s new price of £23,115 RRP OTR or £19,615 RRP OTR including the Government Plug-In Car Grant – a saving of £2,935 over the car’s previous list price, and an overall saving of £3,250 with the additional equipment factored in.

As before, the e-up! uses a 374 volt, 18.7 kWh battery pack to give a WLTP-rated range of 83 miles, and consumption of just 11.7 kWh/62 miles combined. A full charge takes nine hours from a standard three-pin plug, or six hours from a 3.6 kWh wall box. A rapid charge point can provide 80 per cent capacity in just 30 minutes.

The updated e-up! is now available to order from across the Volkswagen UK Retailer network with the Government’s £3,500 Plug-In Car Grant also applicable to the zero-emission city car.
