Growth by acquisition for warranty firm

AutoGuardThe boss of Camberley based Autoguard Warranties, has talked about his firm's recent growth thanks to the acquisition of Bradford based commercial vehicle warranty provider Fleetband Warranty Services.

Talking about the purchase which took place on February 14th 2016, Robert Dockerill, CEO of Autoguard Warranties said, “Our acquisition of Fleetband was the result of numerous requests we received from commercial vehicle dealers wanting warranty programmes for trucks over 3.5 tonnes. We investigated this and found there was a gap in the market. We discovered that there were only a small number of warranty products being sold each year to HGV, truck fleets and independent owners.

“The haulage market is a very different market from passenger vehicles and we will be listening to dealers, so that we can tailor products to suit their needs. Over the next few months, we will be making a major investment in upgrading Fleetband’s IT systems and will be providing full claims and administration services to customers.

“Our road-based sales team will be visiting dealers around the UK to inform them of the new range of Fleetband warranty products and services on offer. They will also be finding out what dealers want from their commercial vehicle warranties, so that we can develop and improve our products.

“Our long term growth strategy has been to expand our portfolio. Fleetband gives us a great stake in the heavy trucks market and over the next 18 months, we aim to grow share and become the no 1 player.”
