South of England dealer group, Westover Group, who operate dealerships for 16 different brands around Salisbury, Poole and Bournemouth, are aiming to recruit 10 new technician and service advisor apprentices to join its workforce of 750.

Westover say they provide work-based training alongside a dedicated mentor and a series of fully-funded courses, taking place at the vehicle manufacturer’s specialist training facilities.

Talking about the latest initiative, Pete Walker, Westover Group Operations Director (once an apprentice himself) says, “No matter if GCSE and A’ Level exams still feel a long way off, we are very happy to offer our apprenticeship positions on the back of predicted grades. Our aim is to bring on a new generation of talent, training our students to the very highest standards from day one so that they can maximise their potential in the workplace.”

Walker adds, “We’re only interested in hearing from candidates who have a real passion to learn new skills, combined with a proactive and positive approach. Previous experience isn’t necessary – it’s more about attitude. This is a great opportunity for a group of local young people to embark on what we hope will be a long and fulfilling career with Westover. A fair few of our senior management team started out as apprentices, so the sky really is the limit.”

Westover Group are encouraging candidates who have or are predicted GCSE passes in English and Maths to visit the dedicated 2018 apprenticeships page of the careers section of their website to find out more.
