Cox Automotive’s software firm, Modix, will launch its Modix 360° product this month, promising an immersive 360° imagery and video experience for dealers.

The new tool has been developed in partnership with GardX and is powered by proven SpinCar technology. It aims to leverage consumers’ preference for all-angle images. The firm quotes recent research that suggest such imagery can increase lead submissions by over 40% and vehicle page engagement by up to 56%.

Modix 360° can capture complete interior and exterior spins of vehicles with automated voiceover, which can be uploaded directly to a dealers’ website or their Motors.co.uk listings. Clickable hotspots can be included in the imagery, which allows dealers to upsell additional key features. and encourages potential buyers to access further information.

Managing director, Modix UK, Darren Sinclair, said: “As we become even more technologically advanced, and car buyers expect to do more from the comfort of their own home, immersive images will become integral in helping a consumer decide on the right purchase. “Being able to showcase a vehicle inside and out through Modix 360°, without the customer having to physically visit the dealership, will help dealers immensely. Put simply, the dealerships that don’t showcase their vehicles online with the highest-quality images are at risk of losing out to competitors.”
