The SMTA (Scottish Motor Trade Association) has launched a new partnership with automotive data experts CAP HPi.

The partnership will launch the SMTA Approved Vehicle Check for the exclusive use of the organisation’s members. The check is backed by HPi data, including the NMR (National Mileage Register) checks and NMR investigation.

Commenting on the move, Sandy Burgess, chief executive of the SMTA, said: “CAP HPi is a reputable and trusted automotive brand, the data accuracy is comprehensive and reliable and the support is first class. We are very happy to be working so closely with them to deliver its provenance check to the membership, and we anticipate this growing from strength to strength as the member numbers increase.”

Wendy Swaine, head of retail at CAP HPi, added: “This new partnership is a testament to the trust we’ve established, and we look forward to providing an unrivalled data service to the members ensuring they remain at the forefront of the organisation’s focus.”

The SMTA represent all aspects of the retail motor trade in Scotland and offers a wide range of free and discounted services to over 1,100 member firms. It also represents its members in the Scottish, UK and European Parliaments and liaises with the relevant government bodies on proposed legislation affecting the retail motor industry in Scotland.
