Vertu partners with Birmingham City Football Club Foundation for EXCELR8 livery reveal
The launch, which coincided with the latest round of the Vertu Primary Schools Cup, brought together two of Vertu’s West Midlands partners in a celebration of young talent.
Team VERTU has officially revealed its new-look car for the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) season during a special event held at Birmingham City Football Club’s Wast Hills training ground.
The launch, which coincided with the latest round of the Vertu Primary Schools Cup, brought together two of Vertu’s West Midlands partners in a celebration of young talent.
Vertu, the official motor retailer that operates Bristol Street Motors dealerships, teamed up with the local EXCELR8 racing team for the unveiling. The event featured Team VERTU drivers Tom Chilton and 2022 BTCC champion Tom Ingram, who were joined by young footballers competing in the Primary Schools Cup.
As the teams arrived for their qualifying games, they were greeted by the sight of two covered cars in the middle of the pitch. With excitement building, the team captains were invited to join Chilton and Ingram in unveiling the 2025 BTCC challenger, which features a striking new livery. The car’s teal base color is accented with orange, white, and blue highlights, reflecting Vertu’s recent rebranding.
Following the reveal, the cars were moved pitch side, allowing the footballers to continue their matches while taking turns to admire the race cars and chat with the drivers about life in the BTCC. Each child also received a merchandise bag from Vertu, including complimentary tickets for the BTCC season opener at Donington Park next month.
Tom Ingram expressed his excitement about the reveal, stating: “The livery reveal is always one of the most exciting moments of the off-season, as everything feels more real when you see the car in its colors for the first time – particularly when it looks as good as it does!”
Tom Chilton highlighted the joy of sharing the moment with young fans: “Revealing the new livery alongside children playing in the Vertu Primary Schools Cup has been a great experience, particularly when they had no idea it was going to happen! Seeing the excitement on their faces was fantastic.”
Team VERTU owner, Justina Williams, praised the collaboration with Birmingham City Football Club’s Foundation: “Launching the livery alongside Birmingham City Football Club’s Foundation has been a fantastic way to showcase our racing programme to a new audience. It would be amazing if it helped inspire some of the youngsters involved to become fans of the team or even pursue careers in the automotive industry.”
Robert Forrester, Chief Executive of Vertu, said: “The launch of Team VERTU for 2025 has allowed us to bring together two valued partners who share our drive to champion young talent. The BTCC programme and Birmingham City FC’s Primary Schools Cup give youngsters across the region fantastic opportunities to showcase their skills and grow in their careers.”
Birmingham City Foundation Director, Antony Isherwood, said: “Playing at the training ground for the opportunity to walk out at St. Andrew’s is one thing, but for the children to be part of the reveal of a British Touring Car – I cannot think of anything more unique than that!”
The 2025 BTCC season will see Ingram and Chilton joined by newcomer Adam Morgan in Team VERTU’s four-car line-up. The team aims to build on its success from 2024, with all eyes on championship glory in the upcoming campaign.
