Searches for Ferrari models on Auto Trader surged following Lewis Hamilton’s move to the Italian team, with interest in the Ferrari 355 F1 soaring by 209%.

The start of the 2025 F1 season has reignited the “Hamilton effect,” with Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari driving a surge in interest for the brand’s iconic cars on Auto Trader.

Research from Auto Trader has revealed that, in the week following an Instagram post by Hamilton announcing his move for this F1 season, searches for Ferraris on the platform increased by 10%. “Specifically, searches for the Ferrari 355 F1, which shares the classic supercar wedge design inspired by the iconic F40 model featured in Hamilton’s Instagram post, increased by 209% in the week following Hamilton’s Instagram post, compared to the same time period the year before,” the company confirmed.

For those dreaming of getting behind the wheel of their own Ferrari, Auto Trader has identified the models with the highest percentage increase in searches following Hamilton’s announcement.

Top five Ferrari models on Auto Trader (percentage increase in searches compared to previous year):

  • Ferrari Purosangue – average advertised price: £422,919, 258% increase in searches
    A high-performance luxury SUV introduced in 2022 and Ferrari’s first four-door model.
  • Ferrari 355 F1 – average advertised price: £89,989, 209% increase in searches
    The model inspired by the iconic F40 featured in Hamilton’s Instagram post. First introduced in 1997, it was the first Ferrari with an F1-style gearbox.
  • Ferrari Enzo – average advertised price: £3,872,500, 181% increase in searches
    Named after Ferrari’s founder, this model was developed in 2002 using F1 technology.
  • Ferrari 575M – average advertised price: £122,671, 127% increase in searches
