Stephen McNeney has been appointed as part of RAC Approved Dealer Network’s three-strong team covering Scotland.

Stephen has been tasked with promoting and selling its warranty products and the RAC BuySure scheme to selected dealers in Aberdeenshire.  He has a career in the motor industry dating back to 1978, having worked at a range of dealers including the Jim Clark Group, with brands including Audi, Volkswagen and Skoda.

Stephen commented: “We are very positive about the opportunities that exist in Aberdeenshire, especially among independent dealers. This is an excellent range of warranty products and RAC BuySure is a genuinely innovative development that has huge appeal for dealers and their customers.

“We especially believe that it will be hugely advantageous for quality independents in the area, allowing them to create a high degree of differentiation when compared to their competition based around the RAC brand which, of course, is very well regarded by used car buyers.”

Sean Kent, director, corporate and independent dealers at The Warranty Group, the RAC’s partner in the dealer sector, added: “There are now almost 100 dealers in the Network across Scotland, with a general improvement in the overall footprint and quality of those involved. Almost wherever a used car buyer lives in Scotland, they should now be within relatively easy reach of an RAC Approved Used Car dealer.”

“This means that, in just three years, we have gone from a standstill to being larger than several manufacturer-approved used car programmes. It is quite an achievement an underlines the strength of out proposition.”
