Franchised dealer’s trade association, The National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA) has appointed Mark Squires as it’s new Chairman, he takes over from ex Lookers boss Peter Jones who has completed 2 years in the role.

Squires was with Benfield Motor Group for 23 years including 15 as CEO and has been on the executive committee of the NFDA for 10 years, chairing the aftersales working group which developed an aftersales standard for NFDA members as well as looking at how to promote to consumers the value of using a qualified, brand specific franchised dealer for all their servicing and repair needs.

Peter Jones, outgoing Chairman, said, “I have greatly enjoyed my time as Chairman of the NFDA and have seen the association go from strength to strength. I am pleased to be handing the reigns over to Mark who is a man of great intelligence and integrity with a lot of sector experience. Interestingly, having sold Benfield, he is now independent of any manufacturer, which is a particularly interesting perspective for the Chairman’s role. I wish Mark every success.”

Mark Squires, incoming Chairman, said, “I am honoured and delighted to take on the role of NFDA Chairman. Brexit will make this a particularly interesting tenure as Chairman as our great industry adjusts to the changes ahead. I look forward to supporting Director Sue Robinson, her team and our members over the next few years and would like to thanks Peter Jones for his years of service.”
