MINI has supported the annual ‘Mile of MINIs’ charity rally once again, helping to raise £7,000 for Buttle UK, a charity supporting children and young people facing financial hardship.

The event, which took place on 27th April, saw more than 120 MINIs drive in convoy from MINI Plant Oxford to BMW Group Plant Swindon.

Organised by The Italian Job, a group dedicated to raising funds for children’s charities while celebrating the MINI brand, the rally has been running since 1990 and has raised over £3m to date.

MINI Plant Oxford has supported the event since 2021, acting as the starting point for the rally. Before departing, participants had the chance to visit the on-site museum, featuring vehicles such as the 1914 Morris Oxford Bullnose, the first car produced at the plant, and a dual-steering R53 MINI Cooper used in the 2003 remake of The Italian Job. New models, including the latest MINI John Cooper Works, MINI Cooper 5-door and MINI Cooper Convertible, were also showcased on the day.

Upon arrival at BMW Group Plant Swindon, the convoy gathered for a display before the fundraising total was announced.

MINI Plant Oxford, one of the world’s oldest automotive manufacturing facilities, has been in continuous operation since 1913 and today plays a key role in the BMW Group’s production network, alongside Plant Swindon, which supplies body pressings and assemblies for BMW and MINI models.
