Licencecheck has launched its new RealTime software which allows companies to check drivers’ licences at the touch of a button.
Making use of the DVLA’s new technology and services to deliver both time and administrative overhead savings to clients, the RealTime software is the first to market, ahead of DVLA ‘s new ‘open service’ IT platform and the abolition of paper licence counterparts.
The service is aimed at vehicle rental companies, driver agencies and employers and will deliver results at the point of request. Previously, an overnight batch service, which delivered results the next working day, was the only option.
To make the process even more convenient, the RealTime software will offer company car drivers the option of providing digital consent to check their licences, saving administration time for all parties, compared to the paper consent form process currently used.
Licencecheck managing director Richard Brown said: “It’s an exciting time for the licence checking industry with the upcoming DVLA changes and we’re thrilled to be at the forefront of this with our RealTime software.
“While there is still a place for the traditional method of licence checking, being able to check licences immediately is a massive advantage for companies, saving time and money.
“Not only does our software make life easier for companies with fleets, but it reduces potential corporate liability considerably, and with the drive towards corporate responsibility and an awareness of their organisation’s duty of care moving upwards in our clients’ agendas, it’s an area which can’t be overlooked.”
The software is currently undergoing comprehensive trials with clients including IAM and Software Europe, ahead of its official launch date at the beginning of April.
