Kia has reported global sales of 269,148 units for May 2025, marking a 1.7% increase compared with the same month last year.

The uptick in performance was driven by strong international demand for its core SUV models and the successful rollout of new vehicles including the EV3, EV4, and Tasman pickup.

Sales outside Korea rose by 2.6% to 223,817 units, with the Sportage leading overseas volumes at 42,796 units, followed by the Seltos with 21,760 units.

Combined sales of the K4 and K3/Forte totalled 17,641.

In its domestic market, Kia saw a 2.4% decline, delivering 45,003 vehicles in May.

The Sorento SUV led Korean passenger vehicle sales with 7,734 units, while the Carnival MPV and Sportage followed with 6,651 and 5,295 units respectively.

The Sportage remained Kia’s global top seller in May, with 48,091 units delivered worldwide.

The Seltos and Sorento posted monthly totals of 26,017 and 21,889 respectively.

The EV3 – recently named World Car of the Year – and the EV4 sedan are part of a broader electrification strategy that Kia says will continue to underpin growth through 2025.

Year-to-date, Kia has sold 1.32 million vehicles globally, up 2.3% compared to the same period last year.

The brand said it will continue to focus on electrification, new model launches, and customer-centric investments to maintain sales momentum across international markets.
