HPI has launched a new online vehicle valuations tool aimed at consumers buying and selling cars in the used car market, under the hpivaluations.com domain.

The service offers consumers data on total cost of ownership of a vehicle during its lifespan along with precise depreciation figures. Users get a valuation by  inputting the car registration number. Valuations are available for cars and LCVs.

The product is subdivided into a free to use section, which provides four market valuations; Price at new, Private sale (at valuation point), Trade-in value, and Forecourt price. There is also a premium valuation available for £2.95, which includes all of the free valuations, together with future values (depreciation) available for cars up to 5 years old, and past values (depreciation) on all cars (where valuations are available), up to 9 years old. It also adds total cost of ownership – running costs including fuel, tax, insurance, service and maintenance and the exact trade-in value.
