A 33 year old used car dealer from Essex, has been named in the shortlist for the prestigious, BMW sponsored, Entrepreneur of the Year award at the recent 2016 Amazon Growing Business Awards.

Former Sytner and Allen Ford car salesman, Adam Stott, who owns Big Cars, started in business for himself in 2008 and eight years later, he now sells 3,000 cars per year, employs 75 staff and turns over £40 million from five sites in Essex, Surrey and soon to open dealership in Sudbury, Suffolk.

The company’s innovative use of social media has played a key role in the rapid growth of Big Cars, which has over 350,000 followers on Facebook, so far generating sales in excess of £50 million.

Talking about making the shortlist, Stott said, “I’m very proud to have been included in such a distinguished list of entrepreneurs by such a well known name in global enterprise. Big Cars is first and foremost a customer service business that happens to sell cars and it continues to go from strength to strength thanks to the hard work of all the team. It will be another record-breaking year for the company so this recognition is a really nice Christmas bonus. We expect 2017 to be even bigger.”
