Eastleigh based Hendy Ford, which is part of the multi-franchise South of England dealer group, Hendy Group, has signed up for a second year as headline sponsor it’s local Eastleigh 10k road race which will be run on Sunday March 19th 2017.
The group’s chief executive Paul Hendy said, “The event starts and finishes within sight of our FordStore in Eastleigh and fits perfectly with our plans to play a key role in the community in which we work. The event attracts around 2,800 runners and we thoroughly enjoyed working with the organising team and meeting many of the runners this year.”
Welcoming the group’s continuing support, the organiser of the race, which is now in it’s 33rd year, Steve Collins said, “The race has built up a good reputation for local runners and those who compete from further afield and we are delighted that Hendy Ford will once again be headline sponsor and that one of its cars will lead the runners again next March.”
The event attracts runners from across the UK who all descend on Eastleigh to take advantage of the fast, flat course which is ideal for top athletes and fun runners alike.
In 2016 the event lived up to its reputation as being the ‘home of the PB’ as hundreds of runners recorded a PB time on this fast, flat course and the Women’s winning time set by Laura Whittle of 32.36 is the fastest women’s 10k in the country in 2016.
