Users of the Motors.co.uk site can now compare the cost of journeys in up to three different makes and models using the firms new Fuel Calculator tool.
The car search website has launched its Fuel Calculator to show consumers how much they are spending on petrol or diesel during their trips. The new tool allows motorists to find out the price of a variety of essential and important journeys, from the daily commute to weekends away visiting friends and family.
The tool allows users to entre their registration or their car’s Miles Per Gallon figure (MPG), along with the local petrol or diesel price to discover how much a trip will cost. Users can also enter the make and model of a car they are considering to purchase to find out if it is more fuel efficient. The new tool incorporates Google Maps to give users a clear view of their journey, displaying the fastest route.
Dermot Kelleher, director of marketing and business intelligence at Motors.co.uk said: “When creating the new Fuel Calculator, we focused on dimensionalising the difference in fuel efficiency between different vehicles in a way that was meaningful to consumers, moving the conversation from abstract miles per gallon metrics to much more significant cost per journey ones.
“By allowing them to compare the cost of their journeys between their current vehicle and a potential new one we believe we have created another great way to help them find the right car for them.”
