Southwest-based multi-franchise network Baylis Group has opened its first Suzuki centre in Cheltenham.
The new dealership will take the group’s outlets into double figures – formed in 1994 with one Vauxhall centre in Gloucester, Baylis has since expanded to become one of the largest groups in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and most recently South Wales, and added Peugeot and MG franchises to its Vauxhall representation.
Baylis has taken over and updated the former Completely Suzuki centre on the Meteor Business Park in Staverton, just outside Cheltenham, and its opening has created 15 jobs.
The centre will offer the full range of Suzuki new and used Suzuki vehicles, with over 500 used cars in group stock. Suzuki’s first full electric vehicle, the e Vitara, will be launched this year.
Baylis Group director Andy Robbins described the opening of the centre as exciting. “This is a fantastic opportunity for us to bring the Suzuki brand to a wider audience in the area, expanding our offering across the South West,” he said.
“Suzuki customers will be pleased to see some familiar faces as we have employed a few of the previous Suzuki dealer staff at the new dealership – we look forward to welcoming customers to our new showroom,” Robbins added.
Soon to retire director automobile of Suzuki GB Dale Wyatt was also delighted at the Baylis acquisition, commenting; “This new dealership will provide customers with even greater access to our award-winning range of vehicles – we are confident that Baylis Group will deliver exceptional customer service and provide residents in Cheltenham and Gloucester with a great buying experience.”
