Autoglym launches hands-on training courses for professional detailers and workshops
Autoglym has launched a series of hands-on training courses at its new indoor facility in Letchworth Garden City, offering professional detailers, bodyshops, and workshops expert-led instruction in machine polishing and vehicle cleaning techniques.
Autoglym, the car care brand, has introduced specialist training courses designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of industry professionals. Delivered at its newly refurbished indoor training facility in Letchworth Garden City, the courses provide practical instruction using state-of-the-art wash bays, bespoke classrooms, and high-end tools and equipment.
The Machine Polishing Training Course (£360 incl. VAT) focuses on rotary and dual-action polishing techniques, helping professionals rectify clear coat defects such as swirls, bird lime markings, scratches, and holograms. It also demonstrates how to achieve a high-quality finish while preserving the lacquer clearcoat to avoid voiding paintwork warranties.
For detailing businesses, motor retailers, and vehicle workshops, Autoglym offers a two-day Professional Process Training Course (£300 incl. VAT). The programme covers key skills including interior and exterior cleaning, wheel and wheel-arch maintenance, traffic film removal, door shut and aperture cleaning, paint rectification by hand, paint protection, and exterior dressings. The course also emphasises cost-efficient product use and customer satisfaction.
Personal protective equipment, parking, lunch, and refreshments are included in each course.
Laura Fippen, head of technical services at Autoglym Professional, said: “We’ve been working with trade customers for 60 years and we understand how cost and process efficiencies are paramount to our trade partners. Our courses are structured to make a meaningful difference in how valeting businesses develop their staff, operate efficiently, and keep their customers happy.
“The refurbishment of our Academy means our expert training team can guide and support attendees in a comfortable, weatherproof and perfectly lit environment.”
