Arnold Clark has launched its ‘Gear Up For Sport’ competition for 2015.  The aim is to kit out 200 local sports teams across the UK.

The ‘Gear Up For Sport’ competition sees U14 teams across the UK battle it out to win brand new sports kits for their club. The competition is open to any team of U14s in the following sports; rugby, netball, football, basketball and cricket. A total of 3000 individual sports strips are also to be given away by the car dealer.    Teams have until 27th April to enter, with the 200 winning teams will be announced on the 10th of June at arnoldclark.com/gearupforsport.

This year, as a promotional tool for the competition Arnold Clarke has added the ‘Gear Up For Sport Challenge ‘ that will see well known teams across the UK taking part in a various sports challenges. It is hoped that these challenges will raise awareness of the kit giveaway competition.

The Glasgow Warriors rugby team have signed up for the challenge at Scotstoun Stadium.  The team’s captain Al Kellock said: ‘As a club we are looking to do as much as possible in our local community and Arnold Clark’s Gear Up For Sport is a great initiative for us to get involved in.‘We already have a close relationship with Arnold Clark, through Harry Fairbairn BMW and we’re really excited about getting involved in this competition. The more we can do in our local community to get kids active the better it is for everyone.’

Eddie Hawthorne, Managing Director of Arnold Clark commented, ‘The fact that a team such as the Glasgow Warriors are behind our Gear Up For Sport campaign means we can hopefully reach the audience who will really benefit from the competition.

“Gear Up For Sport is an initiative that looks to bring sport and communities together. The Glasgow Warriors reflect this in the work done through their Glasgow Warriors Community programme. As a UK-wide group, we see how tirelessly local sports clubs close to our dealerships work to raise funds for their kit. As a way to support that, we’ve doubled the prize fund to 200 team kits this year and look forward to seeing the creative entries that the teams come up with.”
