Startin Honda is providing a Honda Civic support car and sponsoring team shirts for a 30 mile walk in aid of Macmillan Cancer. The Fell Walk in tribute to Worcestershire cricketer, Tom Fell, who has beaten cancer twice despite only being 23.

The event takes place on 4th August and is being spearheaded by Stourbridge-resident, Mark Ashbourne, who is registered blind. Mark will walk from Worcestershire County Cricket ground to Edgbaston Cricket ground in Birmingham, a journey of more than 29 miles. He hopes to finish the challenge in time to watch Worcestershire Rapids take on Birmingham Bears in the club’s biggest 20/20 match of the season.

Tim Freeman, Startin Honda dealer principal, “Startin Honda is delighted to be providing the Fell Walk with a support car that will follow the walkers throughout their journey, carrying vital supplies, warning drivers of the walkers to ensure their safety and be on hand should anyone get into difficulties along the way.”

Freeman added, “It’s always a pleasure to be involved in community events, particularly when they are raising funds for such a worthy cause. Mark and his fellow walkers are taking on quite a challenging route but luckily the Honda Civic is perfectly suited to the task in hand so will be able to support them wherever they go, whatever the weather.”

Mark Ashbourne commented, “It’s absolutely fantastic to have the support of Startin Honda for my latest challenge. I have raised money before with the Walk for Basil a few years ago and I’m excited to be taking on a new challenge. It’s always a major headache to sort support such as this when organising a charity event so, when Startin Honda jumped at the chance to help us, we were really delighted. I had initially wanted to raise £1,000, but we have already smashed that target, so we’re now hoping to hit the £5,000 mark.”
