British Car Auctions (BCA) has confirmed plans for its charity fundraiser: the ‘Paris Challenge’. The event is a charity bike ride in aid of ‘Action for A-T’.   A-T or Ataxia Telangiectasia, is a rare, genetic degenerative childhood disease.

BCA aims to raise £30,000 to fund research into treating A-T. The 400km challenge will leave BCA Blackbushe in September and will finish in Paris.  A team of 40 participating riders  will include cyclists from BCA and the wider motor industry.

BCA has secured sponsorship from Arnold Clark, Vertu, Marshall Group, Motorline, Halliwell Jones, Jardine, Ancaster, JCT600, Lookers and  TC Harrison for its event.

Craig Purvey, chief commercial officer at BCA is one of those taking part.  He said: “We are delighted that many from across the motor industry are rallying behind this event.  Action for A-T is a very worthwhile cause which funds high-quality peer-reviewed medical research to speed up the process of identifying a cure for Ataxia Telangiectasia, a rare, genetic degenerative disease of childhood.”
