Spread the love

Vertu owned, Bristol Street Motors Morpeth Ford has confirmed further support for the Bedlington Brass Band Initiative.

The initiative is part of the Music Partnership North – Northumberland. Bristol Street Motors’ sponsorship enables the scheme to offer budding musicians expert tutorship, and help with establishing school mini bands, community music workshops and performances, and creation of smaller youth and community brass bands. Its Youth Brass Band is working with more than 300 young people aged eight and upwards to encourage them to play brass instruments.

Jamie Macleod, Sales Manager at Bristol Street Motors Morpeth Ford, commented, “Brass band music is an important part of North East culture and should be preserved for future generations. By continuing to give the Bedlington Brass Band Initiative our support, we are helping them to do just that. Instilling a love of listening and playing brass band music from a young age is vital to ensuring it can be enjoyed for many years to come. We’re proud to be able to support such a worthwhile initiative and always look forward to hearing the band play whenever possible.”

Chris Elder, Secretary of the Bedlington Brass Band, added, “It is fantastic to have the continued support of Bristol Street Motors Morpeth Ford. The dealership has been amazing over the last few years and helped us to expand our programme to reach even more brass music fans and inspire more young people to take up brass instruments.

“Our youth sessions in particular have really benefitted from the backing of Bristol Street Motors, with the launch of a new youth trainer band, which has more than 12 students regularly coming along to learn how to play as individuals and as part of a band. Through this renewed sponsorship we will be able to deliver 30 more of these youth sessions, and hopefully continue to expand the number of youngsters taking part.”
