Vauxhall to launch fully electric GSE range in 2025
Vauxhall’s GSE sub-brand will go fully electric from 2025, with a new logo and high-performance models aimed at delivering “exhilarating” zero-emissions driving.
Vauxhall has confirmed that the next generation of its GSE performance sub-brand will be fully electric, marking a bold new chapter in its electrification strategy. The move, announced alongside the unveiling of a refreshed GSE logo and a new campaign film titled Three Letters, positions GSE as the flagship for the brand’s zero-emissions future.
Florian Huettl, CEO of Opel & Vauxhall, said: “The GSE sub-brand stands for particularly dynamic, exhilarating, and emotional Vauxhall models. In 2025, we will take the next important step. The new GSE models will be fully electric. This demonstrates how powerful, exciting, and inspiring battery-electric mobility can be.”
Initially relaunched in 2022 as ‘Grand Sport Electric’, GSE models began as plug-in hybrid variants of the Astra, Astra Sports Tourer and the previous Grandland. The next generation of GSE vehicles will be exclusively powered by electric drivetrains, with Vauxhall promising heightened performance and a more engaging driving experience.
The forthcoming models are expected to deliver not only eye-catching design – in keeping with Vauxhall’s bold and distinctive visual language – but also dynamic handling and confidence-inspiring stability during braking, cornering and motorway driving. Vauxhall said the new GSE models will provide the “proverbial OMG feeling” and described them as integrating the driver directly with the chassis for a more immersive and responsive drive.
The new GSE identity will be promoted through a creative marketing campaign that includes the OMG! GSE platform, drawing on the playful tone established by the Yes, of Corsa and #GOGRAND campaigns, and the recent Frontera relaunch.
Vauxhall’s announcement forms part of its wider transition to electrification, with all new models expected to be fully electric from 2028 onwards.
