Vauxhall has announced a significant update to its Corsa Electric line-up, with the new Long Range model now offering up to 266 miles (WLTP) thanks to advancements in battery chemistry and drivetrain efficiency. The update delivers an extra 14 miles of range over the previous generation, using a 51kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt battery and a 156PS motor, consuming just 4.3 mi/kWh.
Originally launched in 2019 with a range of 205 miles, the Corsa Electric has seen successive updates, including a facelift in July 2023 boosting range to 246 miles. The latest iteration, available from 1 April 2025, marks the most efficient version to date.
For the first time, Vauxhall is introducing Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality on the Corsa Electric Long Range. Available from May 2025, the V2L system allows drivers to power external devices up to 3.6kW via a standard on-board cable and V2L gun accessory. This bi-directional charging feature opens up new practical uses for EV drivers, such as running tools or camping gear directly from the car’s battery.
Recharging remains swift, with the 51kWh variant supporting rapid charging up to 100kW, delivering an 80% charge in under 30 minutes.
Despite the extended range, pricing remains unchanged. The Corsa Electric Long Range YES Edition starts at £28,900 OTR and includes a high level of equipment as standard, such as heated front seats, heated vegan leather steering wheel, 16-inch alloy wheels and a colour-matched interior in three exclusive colours—Eucalyptus Green, Cobalt Blue and Kiss Red.
Vauxhall’s Electric All In package also supports new buyers, offering eight years of roadside assistance, £500 charging credit towards home or public charging, 10,000 miles of free home charging with Octopus, and six months of Vauxhall Connect Plus.
The updated Corsa Electric range is part of Vauxhall’s commitment to offering a fully electric version of every car and van in its line-up.
