New Volkswagen Tayron grabs five-star Euro NCAP rating

The Tayron has achieved the highest safety score in all key categories of the Euro NCAP assessment.

Receiving a five-star rating for the new Tayron solidifies the company’s ‘Safety For All’ guiding principle, achieving an outstanding evaluation also reflects the improvement of safety standards.

Wolfsburg feels the rating underlines the outstanding safety equipment of the Tayron and the high standards of Volkswagen as they have been working innovations for decades to increase road safety.

Euro NCAP has had growing road safety concerns due to the increase of the size of vehicles, however, Volkswagen Tayron has passed their impartial tests to ensure crash protection, prevention and post-crash safety.

The assessment covers four key areas of road safety including; adult occupation protection, child occupation protection, vulnerable road user protection and safety support provided by driver assist and accident prevention systems.

A five-star rating for the Tayron stands for an exemplary overall score reflecting Volkswagen’s continued strive for improved safety standards as well as excellent equipment featuring systems for accident prevention.

Some features of the assist systems in the entry-level version; lane keeping system lane assist, predictive speed limiter, automatic post-collision braking system and exit warning system.

There are some additional safety-relevant features that form a part of the standard equipment including, hill start assist, electronic stability controls and safety optimised head restraints.

This model can come with an additional row of seats in the back making it a seven-seater vehicle, it also comes with an intuitive infotainment system and premium quality interior.

Coming as either a petrol, diesel pr plug-in hybrid model with the latter offering an excellent purely electric range of up to 127km.
