Mitsubishi and EVHACS launch integrated EV charger and heat pump
By combining the traditionally separate units, customers will benefit from a simplified installation process, increased space efficiency, and lower ownership costs.
Mitsubishi Electric has partnered with Irish tech firm EVHACS, to produce the world’s first integrated heat pump and electric vehicle (EV) charger.
The product combines EV charging technology from EVHACS, with Mitsubishi’s heat pump technology, creating a two-in-one solution, that can charge an EV, and provide heating and cooling.
Ciaran Moody (pictured, centre), president of Mitsubishi Electric Ireland, said: “This partnership marks a major leap forward in sustainable building technology.
“The integrated system enables maximum energy efficiency—offering a powerful, future-proof solution for the decarbonised buildings of tomorrow.
“By partnering with EVHACS, we’re creating a solution that delivers on both convenience and sustainability.”
By combining the traditionally separate units, customers will benefit from a simplified installation process, increased space efficiency, and lower ownership costs.
The integrated unit will also allow users to manage heating and EV charging through a single unit, with increased scheduling and energy efficiency capabilities, as well as dynamic load balancing, ensuring that power draw is in line with what the supply can handle.
Jeff Aherne, CEO of EVHACS (pictured, left), said: “This is about convergence. Our mission has always been to make clean energy technologies more accessible and practical.
“With Mitsubishi Electric, we’re making it easier than ever for people to decarbonise their homes, retail or commercial buildings, and vehicles—all in one step.
“It’s the best of both worlds—cutting-edge integration backed by proven, reliable engineering.
“This solution makes sustainability simpler and more accessible for everyone.”
AC charging is supported, and the units are designed to integrate into existing home energy management systems, and the combined units are already available for sale in Ireland.
Aherne continued: “We’ve always believed that heating and mobility infrastructure should evolve together.
“Our partnership with Mitsubishi Electric proves that bold, collaborative innovation can deliver smarter, greener solutions that genuinely move the needle on climate action.”
