Fastned has opened a new ultra-rapid electric vehicle charging hub in Greenock, marking its fifth site in Scotland and further strengthening access to high-speed charging infrastructure along the country’s west coast.

Located off Greenock’s Main Street at the Rue End Street roundabout, the new hub offers four 400kW chargers with the capacity to add four more. Powered by 100% renewable energy, the site enables drivers to add up to 100 miles of range in just five minutes. It is intended to serve both local users and tourists, particularly during the busy summer period.

Tom Hurst, UK country director at Fastned, said: “We’re delighted to open our fifth charging hub in Scotland, and provide much needed charging in an area with a low number of ultra-rapid chargers. Watch this space as there’s much more to come!”

The Greenock location is Fastned’s third hub in western Scotland and its 33rd across the UK. It features the brand’s signature solar canopy for visibility and shelter, while also symbolising the availability of rapid public charging to drivers still considering the switch to electric.

Fastned was recently rated the UK’s best medium-sized EV charging network by Zap Map. Its sites offer flexible payment options and a user-friendly experience designed to minimise downtime for drivers and accelerate EV adoption across the country.
