WSG and The Motor Ombudsman to host webinar on importance of ADR and dealer accreditation
Warranty Solutions Group and The Motor Ombudsman have launched a new joint webinar highlighting the value of dispute resolution and TMO accreditation for dealers.
Warranty Solutions Group (WSG) has announced an exclusive webinar in collaboration with The Motor Ombudsman (TMO), titled The Importance of Alternative Dispute Resolution: Why Dealers Should Be Accredited to TMO’s Vehicle Sales Code.
The session aims to help dealerships understand the commercial and reputational value of being accredited to TMO’s nationally recognised Vehicle Sales Code.
The panel features Danny Tregaskes, new business manager at The Motor Ombudsman; Phil Miskelly, head of key accounts at WSG; and John Colinswood, CEO of WSG.
Together, they will discuss how access to Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) helps dealers avoid costly litigation and reinforces customer confidence.
Colinswood said: “In the fast-paced world of vehicle sales, disputes can arise unexpectedly – whether it’s a disagreement over a warranty, concerns about a vehicle’s history, or post-sale issues that affect customer satisfaction.
“Buying a vehicle is a major financial decision, and customers rightly expect transparency and quality. Even with the best intentions, issues can occur after the sale. Having clear processes and protections in place is essential to safeguard consumer trust and maintain a dealership’s reputation.”
The webinar will examine common triggers of disputes – such as mechanical faults, vehicle history discrepancies and confusion over warranty coverage – and how accreditation to TMO’s code helps dealerships proactively manage risk.
It also explores emerging complaint trends, particularly in light of the rise in distance selling and the complexity of EV technology.
Tregaskes added: “Dealers accredited to the Vehicle Sales Code demonstrate that they uphold the highest standards in the industry.
“Accreditation signals to customers that a business operates with integrity, professionalism, and a genuine focus on outstanding service throughout the sales journey.
“Access to ADR offers dealerships and customers an independent, expert-led solution to resolve disagreements swiftly and fairly, without the burden of court proceedings.”
The webinar also includes practical guidance for improving customer satisfaction and complaints handling, with examples of recent high-value sales disputes handled by TMO. Dealers can register to attend the session free at warrantysolutionsgroup.co.uk.
