Volkswagen Polo Edition 50 launches in UK to mark supermini’s 50th anniversary
Volkswagen will release the limited-run Polo Edition 50 on 19th June, featuring exclusive design elements and premium equipment to celebrate the model’s 50-year legacy.
Volkswagen is celebrating 50 years of its Polo with the launch of the limited-run Polo Edition 50, set to go on sale in the UK from 19th June.
The commemorative model arrives in restricted numbers and is positioned between the R-Line and Black Edition trims in the current Polo line-up.
The Edition 50 stands out with unique ‘50’ badging on the steering wheel, B pillar, instrument panel and front door sills, and debuts a striking Crystal blue metallic paint finish, unavailable on any other Polo currently sold in the UK.
Additional styling enhancements include tinted rear windows, gloss-black cabin inserts, unique sports seats and 17-inch Tortosa alloy wheels.
Under the bonnet, the car is powered by a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine producing 95 PS, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
It also benefits from several high-spec features typically found on more expensive Volkswagen models, such as a tilting and sliding panoramic sunroof, rear-view camera, keyless access and start, and two-zone Air Care Climatronic air conditioning.
The Polo was the UK’s best-selling supermini in 2024, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, and the Edition 50 is expected to appeal to long-time fans and collectors alike.
The car will be available to order from Volkswagen UK Retailers starting Thursday 19th June, priced at £26,350 on the road including VAT.
