Skywell has marked a major milestone in its UK expansion with the delivery of its first BE11 model to a customer in Kingston Upon Thames, following a high-profile national campaign in collaboration with Auto Trader.
The digital campaign, which ran at the end of 2024, featured the BE11 as part of Auto Trader’s popular ‘New Car Giveaway’, with the aim of introducing the Skywell brand to UK drivers ahead of its official market launch. The initiative generated more than 2.8 million views on the Auto Trader platform, 396,000 organic views and a further 2.4 million impressions across social media.
“The New Car Giveaway was a strategic approach to maximise our reach as we increased awareness of our entry to the UK market,” said David Clark, general manager at Skywell UK. “To receive in excess of 2.8 million views on the Auto Trader platform, plus the same again across social media platforms, is a fantastic result for Skywell.”
The first customer vehicle – a metallic Midnight Blue 72kWh Standard Range BE11 – was handed over to Mr John Warne, who was selected from over 391,000 competition entries.
“All my friends who have seen the car are just as impressed as I am, and if I hadn’t won it, it would definitely be one I would have considered purchasing for myself,” said Warne.
Praising the car’s specification and spaciousness, Warne added: “Apple CarPlay integration makes connectivity seamless. The 360-degree all-round camera system is a fantastic feature, making parking much easier. Storage space is another strong point. The suspension is well-tuned. But one of its standout features is the spacious cabin, which offers plenty of room for both the driver and passengers. At 6’4”, I was initially concerned about space, especially in the rear seats. However, a friend who is 6’3” sat behind me without his knees getting crushed—an impressive testament to the ample legroom in the rear.”
The fully electric BE11, priced at £36,995, is positioned in the D-segment and offers a high specification including a panoramic Skyroof, 128-colour LED ambient lighting, Metz 8.1 speaker sound system, Alcantara and faux leather seating, wireless phone charging, V2L capability, and 19” alloy wheels. It also comes with Skywell’s 7-year / 100,000-mile warranty.
Skywell now has a network of 12 UK dealers, with the BE11 available for immediate delivery. Retail buyers who register a BE11 by 30 June 2025 will receive a Hypervolt Home Pro 3 charger with free installation and £1,000 of public charging credit via Octopus Electroverse.
