Cupra has opened its first City Garage in the UK, situated in Manchester city centre.

Set over two floors, the garage is located in St Ann’s Square, and will showcase the latest Cupra models, as well as hosting events and wellness sessions.

Mural artist Chris Princic contributed artwork to the garage, following his work on City Garages in Madrid, Vienna, and Sydney.

Marcus Gossen, managing director of Cupra UK, said: “Known for its creativity and rebellious spirit, Manchester mirrors Cupra’s own DNA: dynamic, bold, and boundary-pushing.

“We want to offer the best of Manchester at this Cupra City Garage–its gastronomy, its music, its art and culture.

“There’s no doubt it will become the new hotspot where people can discover our brand and experience unique events.”

Cupra reported strong UK sales in Q1, with registrations increasing 44% compared to Q1 2024, registering more than 10,000 cars in the UK in Q1 alone.

The UK is now Cupra’s third largest market, representing more than 12% of global sales.

The opening morning featured a panel discussion that explored the connection between Cupra, Manchester, and design, moderated by radio presenter Victoria Jane, with speakers from Cupra and Andy Windsor, CEO of Want Studios.

Sven Schuwirth, executive vice president of sales, marketing and aftersales at Cupra, said: “Cupra continues to gain strong momentum in the UK, our third-largest global market.

“Opening a CUPRA City Garage in Manchester marks a significant milestone in our globalisation strategy — a place where our UK Tribe can connect, experience the brand, and be part of our journey.

“It signals the beginning of an exciting new chapter for CUPRA in one of our most strategically important markets.”

The Manchester garage’s opening comes before the London Formula E race, where the Cupra Kiro Formula E is set to compete.
