Paul Nichols, fleet sales manager at Vertu Jaguar Land Rover Bolton, is taking on the Grand Départ stage of the Tour de France to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.

Nichols will ride the full 185km route – which starts and finishes in Lille – just one week before the professionals, aiming to complete the course in six to seven hours.

The challenge is in support of a cause that Nichols says is close to his heart.

“Prostate cancer affects one in eight men in the UK,” said Nichols. “I’ve known people who have been touched by it, and I strongly believe that lowering the age of screening could save lives. Prostate Cancer UK is doing vital work to raise awareness and push for these changes, and I’m proud to support them.”

Nichols is currently deep into training ahead of the event and hopes to raise significant funds for the charity through his JustGiving page.

“He is encouraging friends, colleagues and supporters in the wider motor trade to donate and raise awareness of prostate cancer screening.
