The AutoTrader suite of artificial intelligence (AI) tools have been used by 10,000 retailers since launching in November last year.
The ‘Co-Driver’ AI tools aim to help retailers optimise their classified adverts for maximum buyer interest.
The AI tools are powered by consumer data, which is collected by AutoTrader more than 619 million search minutes each month.
Smart Image Management was the first tool to debut, re-ordering nearly nine million images across 290,000 adverts, using consumer data to optimise photo sequences.
Ben Mills, digital marketing specialist at FOW Car Supermarket, said: “Co-Driver’s AI retailing tools are game-changing for us.
“Through optimised workflows, we’ve revolutionised our digital forecourt to present a highly engaging solution for our customers.”
The Vehicle Highlights tool, which summarises key car features, has been interacted with more than 33 million times, while Co-Driver has generated more than 285,000 vehicle descriptions since its launch in February.
It allows retailers to provide the car’s VIN number, and have an accurate description generated quickly.
The tools allowed the average advert to be created in just five minutes, down from 28 minutes prior to the introduction of AI.
Co-Driver was developed in-house by AutoTrader, and is available on all used car and van advertising packages.
Karolina Edwards-Smajda, chief product officer at AutoTrader, said: “It’s the pinnacle of a decade of AI investment, as well as close collaboration with our partners to ensure it met their needs, particularly within today’s challenging market.
“We’re delighted therefore that these combined tools have been embraced so quickly, and retailers are seeing such immediate benefits.”
