Arnold Clark Mercedes-Benz of Inverness has donated £1,000 to Medical and Emergency Response Team (MERT) Highland, a non-profit volunteer group supporting first response services across northern Scotland.

MERT Highland plans to use the donation to invest in new kit, including additional defibrillators, to assist more people in the Highlands. The team regularly supports the Scottish Ambulance Service by attending emergency calls as a first-response resource and also provides event cover and community patrols in Inverness during busy periods.

Danielle Ralph, senior customer experience co-ordinator at Arnold Clark Mercedes-Benz of Inverness and a volunteer with MERT Highland, said: “Last year, MERT Highland made a huge difference to the 384 casualties we treated, and this year, we aim to help even more people in need. Arnold Clark’s generous donation helps to ensure that our responders continue to deliver the care and support within the communities they live and work in.”

Chris Whiting, secretary at MERT Highland, added: “We’re extremely grateful to Arnold Clark for this donation. I’ve been working with MERT Highland for four years and I’ve been able to see first-hand the great work they do in the local community.”

MERT Highland was founded in 2017 and operates throughout the Highlands and Islands as a supplementary emergency response team.
