Vertu has announced an £800,000 expansion project for its Bristol Street Motors Nissan Darlington dealership.
Construction work has already begun as part of the group’s plans to increase the workshop and showroom at the dealership. The completed redevelopment will see the CV department receiving its own display area. The head count at the site will increase, with the vehicle maintenance and diagnostic team taking on two senior technicians and an apprentice technician to help meet the site’s growing aftersales demands.
Terry O’Neill, General Manager at Bristol Street Motors Nissan Darlington, said: “This investment in the site and new colleagues demonstrates the strength of the motor retail industry in the Darlington area. The business has continued to grow and our new expanded facilities will allow us to maintain this momentum.
“We are seeing an increasing number of local businesses turning to Nissan for their commercial vehicles. Our commercial vehicle department has its own area, which will allow it to better serve our business customers.
“I am delighted that with our expansion, we are able to provide more jobs for local people. I am especially pleased that we are able to take on another apprentice. Many of the best and brightest in the industry started their careers as apprentices, gaining experience and qualifications on the job, earning while they learn.”
