Neath based car supermarket group, The Trade Centre Wales, has provided a trading update for the year to date, with its sights set on achieving a £25m pre-tax profit in 2018.

The £25m goal will be facilitated by two planned new outlets, scheduled for 2018. The firm’s trading updated confirmed 2017 year to date pre-tax profit ahead at £10m, with 4 months trading remaining. The group experienced record turnover of £17m in July 2017.

The Trade Centre Wales is privately owned by entrepreneur Mark Bailey, who commented, “I am delighted with how the business has been received by car shoppers in the Midlands, we have successfully replicated the Trade Centre concept in a completely new region and the results provide huge encouragement for continued expansion of the brand nationally”.

CEO Andy Coulthurst added, ‘Anyone visiting the latest format store cannot fail to be impressed, digital point-of-sale illuminates our reception atrium and golf buggies are at hand to help you navigate acres of retail stock, all prepared to optimum standard. Over 80% of our customers choose to take their cars the same day and we invest significantly in people and processes to facilitate this, on a typical Saturday we will see over 70 customers drive away their new cars on their first ever visit to our Wednesbury showroom”.

Looking to 2018, Coulthurst concluded: “We are on track to more than quadruple profit over a 4 year period, 2018 will see the business deliver over £25m pre-tax profit, compared to £5.6m in 2014 and everyone is working very hard here to make that happen”
