Automotive retail consultants, enquiryMAX, estimate that used sales jumped by 39% in 2017. The data is based on an analysis of over 500 dealerships across the UK.

The firm’s data shows an increase in enquiries for used vehicles of 43% between July 2016 and July 2017. Test drives were also up on used vehicles by 60%,  and orders increased 39%. EnquiryMAX confirmed that leads from digital channels increased by 104%, outstripping manufacturer leads, which grew by 30%.

David Boyce, managing director of enquiryMAX, commented, “It’s clear the market is turning and dealers are putting more focus and resource into used sales. The internet is increasingly becoming the primary resource for leads, and this means that dealers must manage the customer journey seamlessly to maximise sales from every lead and digital marketing spend.”  

The company provides sales lead management software and retail consultancy to over 600 dealers in the UK.
