Barry Sedgewick, from Swansway Garages’ Volkswagen Van Centre Wrexham, has recently gained master technician status.
Barry Sedgewick, hit the required standard after working his way through the Volkswagen Academy training programme in just six months. The intensive training course culminated in a day of practical examinations which saw him complete his qualification.
However, the 44-year-old who joined Volkswagen Van Centre Wrexham eight months ago is no rookie. Prior to undertaking the training, Barry had more than 25 years of automotive experience. He has spent the last 15 years with the Volkswagen passenger car brand and has now transferred his expertise to the commercial vehicle sector.
Commenting on passing his course, Barry said: “I’m delighted to have gained this qualification.“My interest in motor mechanics has never wavered and I like to take on new challenges so I have really enjoyed developing my commercial vehicle knowledge.
“It was a tough course but I feel I have not only gained a skill but have a much greater understanding of the business both from a technician’s and customers’ point of view.”
