Volkswagen owned car brand Seat and US owned dealer group Group 1 Automotive, have followed the lead set by Hyundai, Tesla and Jaguar amongst others with the decision to open the first Seat Store, a 150 square meter unit at the Lakeside shopping centre in Essex.
Talking about what they ar doing, Richard Harrison, Director, Seat UK, said, “Our new store is a world first for us, and I’m delighted to be working with Group 1 Automotive to deliver such an exciting venture. We are passionate about finding ways to make it even easier for people to discover and fall in love with our award winning range of cars. With a great team of product experts on board, a stunning new store and experience centre, and the all new Seat Ateca also launching next week, I am sure the millions of shoppers visiting intu Lakeside are in for a real treat!”
Darren Guiver, Deputy Managing Director at Group 1 Automotive, added, “We’re really excited to be the first car retail store at intu Lakeside, and working closely with the Seat team to deliver this exciting new concept.”
The Seat Store, with a staff of 13, has eight , 22-inch digital info “hubs” (those would be computers to you and me) and space for three display cars indoors, and what Seat are calling and outdoor Experience Centre with 16 cars available to be looked at and test driven. Seat say that a facility to provide servicing will follow shortly.
Harrison adds, “The inspiration for the Store design builds upon our dynamic new dealership corporate identity, which is already half way through a plan that will refresh the look and feel of our entire dealer network across the UK.”
